Tango Mundial Finals
I go to see a bit of the finals of the tango competition here as part of the tango festival. There were two competitions going on: one for tango salon, the more traditional dance and for second tango escenario, which is more flexible I think, with jumps etc. I watched the first 6 couples of escenario finals before going to Teatro Colon to see an opera.
Here's a video of the best couple, in my opinion

Iguazu: The Falls
Iguazu is apparently a "7 New Wonder of Nature," although of course identified by our guide as a 7 wonder of the world |

We took a short boat trip (as pictured) which went around this area of the falls and got soaked by the water |

The bus we took on our 18 hour ride which was quite nice. They provided breakfast and dinner and showed movies and the seats reclined quite far |

Tigre
Sunday was the first day of nice weather in a while and we visited Tigre - a town on the outskirts of Buenos Aires. To be honest, it was too touristy and crowded. The path along the water was very manicured and nice but the other side of the street was pretty run down and full of touristy restaurants.
This is near the Tigre Museum of Art, probably the most impressive part of the town |
The Tigre Art Musuem - we didn't go inside because it was closing soon and wasn't going to be worth paying but it was a beautiful building |
The Tango Festival
The tango festival is going on right now in the city with a bunch of events - concerts, lessons, lectures and the competition. All the events are free!
Usine del Arte - where one of the concerts took place |

The main hall in the Usine had turned into a Milonga when we had gotten out of the concert |

Subte (subway system) running again
After a 10 day strike, the subte is finally running again today. The protest began with a 5-day shut down of the system but after that the subte remained closed and no one had any idea when it would open again. Apparently, this happens quite often; Argentina is known to have a culture of protesting.
Celebrating not having to take the colectivos (buses) with more coffee |
